AWDI elevates the bassist to a higher level of creative expression. Explore the art of improvisation through embellishments. Master the fingerboard through the note movement based on the Major Scale. This module will challenge you to grow your mastery on the bass as you further develop your unique personality as a musician.
The thematic focus on THE HEARTBEAT OF HEAVEN (The Kingdom Age) takes us to witness kingdom life in Israel. Grasp the will of heaven manifested on earth as you witness the events that have shaped Israel’s history leading to the first advent of the Messiah.
Thematic Devotion: THE HEARTBEAT OF HEAVEN (The Kingdom Age) Answer the call for the establishment of a righteous and just kingdom in life here on earth.
Introduction: Adding embellishment for a more expressive playing. Identification of note patterns along the fingerboard.
Rhythm: Straight and syncopated rhythms to cater different contemporary worship styles and synergistic flow.
Harmony: Integrating Parallel Notes
Duration: 7-week course; 1-hour weekly lessons
Song Application & Techniques: Accompanied play with backing tracks for an immersive playing experience across a variety of familiar praise & worship songs

I first joined Believer Music in Sep 2018 for the Electric Bass Primer module. At first I did not know what to expect as I had little to no knowledge in music theory or musical instruments at all. But surprisingly the lessons turned out to be really amazing. Not only in teaching the technical aspects of playing the bass like finger placement and rhythm counting, but also grounding the sessions with a devotional topic related to theme of the lesson.
My Bass coach gave me timely feedback and encouragement with regards to proper technique. He has very good attention to detail, being able to correct the way I press the strings (too hard or too soft) just by hearing the notes I played. He also offered helpful advice on being a musician in the church worship band.
I really enjoyed the pace of the Believer Music Bass lessons and think it was just right for a beginner like myself, anchoring each lesson on a praise and worship song. I would recommend this program to anyone interested to pick up the bass to learn a new instrument and grow closer to God through praise and worship songs.

Who should sign up for this module? Am I eligible for signup?
You are eligible for this module if you:
i) Successfully completed the Worship Dynamics II
ii) Played bass with a steady rhythm both straight and syncopated.
iii) Are comfortable incoporating fills in-between chords
*Should you have prior playing experience, use the Online Course Allocator to identify the module most suitable for you.
NOTE: Should Believer Music Coaches find any student mismatched in any particular module, we reserve the right to transfer the student to another class after the first session to optimize the learning experience.
How will these 2 months benefit me as a bassist?
At the end of the module, you would have;
i) Incorporated hammer-on to enable you to play expressively
ii) A further mastery of the notes on the fingerboard and know how some movement patterns on the Major Scale notes
iii) An advanced familiarization of the Major Scale through the use of parallel notes
