Designed for adult learners building formal Grades 1–3 music theory literacy. Aligned with the Trinity College London - Theory of Music, ensuring internationally recognized standards of music education.

This foundation track equips you with clear and practical knowledge of music notation, rhythm and harmony.

Develop greater confidence in understanding written music, analyzing scores and applying essential theory concepts in learning or teaching situations.

Understand essential terms for dynamics, articulation, tempo and musical expression.
Rhythm

Analyze note values, simple time signatures, rhythmic grouping and syncopation.
Pitch & Notation

Read and write music confidently in treble and bass clefs.
Scales & Keys

Construct selected major and minor keys, scales, arpeggios and triads.
Intervals & Chords

Identify musical intervals, tonic and dominant triads, and perfect cadences.

Correct notation errors, analyze scores and apply theory concepts to practical teaching situations.

Will I receive a Trinity certificate upon completing this course?

No. This course prepares you with the knowledge and skills required for the Trinity College of London - Theory of Music examination, but the official examination is conducted separately.

To receive a Trinity certificate, you will need to register for and pass the official Trinity examination. Additional examination fees are payable to Trinity. Believer Music can assist with submitting your examination registration.

How much UTAP support could I receive?

UTAP currently supports 50% of the unfunded course fee, subject to the relevant annual cap, your remaining UTAP balance and NTUC’s approval.

Is UTAP an upfront course discount?

No. UTAP is claimed after full course payment and successful course completion. The potential reimbursement should not be treated as a guaranteed upfront discount.

What does “unfunded course fee” mean?

It refers to the eligible out-of-pocket course fee paid by the learner.

It excludes Believer Music lifetime membership and administration fees, Trinity theory workbooks and other miscellaneous charges.

What files can I upload for my claim?

The official UTAP portal accepts PDF, JPEG, JPG and PNG files of up to 5 MB per file.

Can Believer Music approve my UTAP claim?

No. NTUC administers and approves all UTAP claims. Believer Music will provide the relevant payment and course-completion documents, but we do not determine eligibility or guarantee reimbursement.

What are the requirements for submitting a claim?

Keep your NTUC membership active throughout the course period.
Attend at least 75% of the course.
Retain both of the following documents:
- a) Proof of payment, such as an invoice or receipt
- b) Proof of course completion, certificate issued by Believer Music

Both documents are required for your UTAP claim submission.

How do I submit my UTAP claim?

Visit the official NTUC UTAP online claim portal.
Log in using your Singpass.
Complete the required claim information and upload your supporting documents.

What information should I enter in the claim form?

Training Provider Name: Believer Music Pte. Ltd.
Course Title: As indicated on your certificate
Course Start and End Dates: As indicated on your receipt or certificate
Nett Course Fee Paid: Enter the eligible course fee paid, excluding membership fees, administration fees, course workbooks, and other miscellaneous charges.
